The jacket is also made from a pattern cut from paper. The paper pattern is fitted to the figure and trimmed and tucked until a good fit is achieved. Then it is used to cut out the jacket parts. The lapels are added after the jacket is baked. Again, liquid clay is brushed onto the baked surfaces to assure a good bond with the fresh clay being added to it. The figure is baked on a piece of wood that has holes drilled into it to accept the wire protruding from the bottom of the feet.
